PPI with RBOS overdraft

in Reclaim PPI & other insurance
I noticed from the site that Martin had only ever heard of overdraft PPI via Barclays. It would appear I have been paying PPI on my RBOS overdraft, I think, via a Royalties Gold Account. Anyone else in this situation? RBOS have rejected my claim

    All you can do now is refer your complaint to FOS. On what basis did you complain and why did the Bank reject the complaint?

    Bank wrote to me in January saying they were refunding me two premiums in respect of Overdraft Policy THEY had cancelled in November. That was the first I was aware I had such a policy. They rejected the claim saying I must have known I had it as I had signed for it in 2003! If I remember correctly I signed for this super duper Royalties Gold Account but at no time was optional insurance mentioned as I would certainly not have taken it. Big mistake I guess of sign without reading.

    You certainly are not the only one who has done this. It's not a valid reason for complaint, of course.

    Up to you.
    Don't expect any swift resolution if you do, a FOS referral takes around eighteen months.
