Multiyork Sale

3 weeks ago I placed an order for a sofa suit at Multiyork. As they are custom made I will not get my settee until beginning of June. A week ago I received in the post a letter from Multiyork advertising an up to 40% sale on settees including the one I ordered. Since I will not be getting my settee until June, Am I entitled to claim the 40% discount they are offering? What are my rights as a consumer?

I'm assuming here that you ordered the sofa in a showroom. If so, you have no legal rights to cancel the contract and no legal rights to to 40% discount. Your only rights are those in the terms of the contract you entered into with them.
You could always try asking them to apply the discount as a goodwill gesture, but if they had instead increased all their prices by 40% they wouldn't be able to come to you and demand the extra.0 -
Hi frugal-mike, Thank you very much for your quick reply. I will try the goodwill gesture and see what happens.0
