How to attach sat nav to volkswagen up?
I've always used my tomtom with the vent/grill clips but the new car doesn't have one in the centre console. I tried using the windscreen sucker but it's too far away. So, I thought about one of those 'beanbag' type things but there is an air vent just at the area where that would sit although I could put it a bit further towards the windscreen. I'm a bit unsure if they're a waste of money. Do they really stay put when going round corners etc? Any recommendations?

Yep. Had one on a hire car recently and despite thinking it would be useless I was really impressed with it. I'd certainly recommend one.0

You may want to have a look at the Brodit range. They have holders for specific devices (both satnavs and phones) for specific models of car.

i have a dashbag beanbag that is in the shape of a donut, the middle has a suctionable flat piece where you can stick on any windscreen mountable holder. works a charm and does not obscure the view like windscreen satnavs - also much easier to readjust the satnav as you can just pick up the whole beanbag donut.
heavy so stays put also.
Picked it up from tkmaxx for a fiver, surprised to see it with all the reject stuff at tkmaxx because the product was excellent.0 -
the suction does come lose every now and again - as it faces up it attracts dust that can break the suction seal, it's only a fiver, just buy an ebay suction thing that will last and just superglue it does permanently to the donut.0

A friend has his TomTom mounted in front of the rev counter on a big blob of bluetac.
Has done that for years as hates to mount things to the windscreen.
Actually not a bad idea as you can see the SatNav everytime you check your speed.
As mentioned the Brodit range is very good.0
