I'm receiving a phone call at the same time daily. when I answer it the phone it then rings out to another number the first time it was answered and a man said hello and then hung up so I put the phone down now it just rings and rings and rings so i'm hanging up straight away.
Any ideas what this could be please

Automated dialling?Do you have a record of the number? It could well be a recording. Are you registered with tps?0

Yes i am registered with TPS also the number is showing as an international number so there is no number showing. The guy that actually spoke the first time and said hello did sound American. Also i did have a call earlier today for an American guy stating i have have problems with my computer i said that total bull**** so he just said thank you and hung up.0

Sounds unlikely but could be that the company that called about the computer has misdialled somehow and placed an automatic callback on your number.Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds Live is AWESOME!!2009 Sealed Pot Challenge Banked £100Comp wins: Shearer Candles (£43)Depressed, dieting, binge-eater with gastric bypass. What's your problem?:cheesy:0

Just to update. It turned out to be a company trying to sell me maintenance for my computer and broadband saying they were working with NTL. NTL don't exist anymore as far as I know it's now Virgin Media. Anyway i gave them a load of abuse - they got me on a bad day - and haven't phoned since thank goodness, oh and my son built all the computers in this house plus did the broadband, but for some reason this company doesn't understand that. Also if they were working on behalf of NTL then why phone my BT line and not my 'NTL' line
