How else can I improve my credit file?

I've been scanning through all my credit files again this morning and found I have a few 'associate' searches for car finance on my Equifax. I called them and they said I'm financially associated with my partner, which I find odd as we don't have any joint accounts or anything.. Also there is nothing in the statutory report showing any associations apart from the searches. They said it's for a joint account with Natwest opened in 2007.. I vaguely remember my other half mentioning it when our daughter was born but I'm pretty sure we got declined for it..

Got to go to Natwest later with I.D to see if there is anything open.

Following a rejection, you could always write to them and appeal, stating your reasons why you had an arrangement to pay and that you are now back on the straight and narrow. Give as much supporting evidence as possible, which will actually be read by an individual rather than a machine. Its worth a try, I have known people who had done it and been given a card (usually with a low limit to start with).

If your only looking for 0% interest deals, this is unlikely to happen at this stage.
