Ok, will have to see a family owned toyota dealer is near me.0 -
Air Con treatment - should be done every couple of years. Will vary depending if it's just a bacteria killer or a full recharge.
Supply and fit radio control on steering wheel - one off charge for an upgrade
X s body carried out repairs
X s body paint and materials - they've obviously had a bump that they paid for themselves
Carry out four wheel geo adjustments - maybe had uneven tyre wear so got tracking done. Maybe asked for it when they got new tyres.
Supplied and fitted n/s/f airbag after diagnostics tests and confirming fault - airbag fault for some reason. Maybe wouldn't need the whole module replacing if done somewhere else.
Tighten drive belt - maybe had a slight squeal
Supply and fit front brake pads and discs ( every second year) - sounds a bit heavy on brakes, but they do corrode more these days. Maybe they washed thier car a lot and put it away damp.
Replace passenger rear wheel bearing
Hub and bearing - wear and tear0 -
Can I ask, once a car is being serviced and the car needs repairs do they ask you if you want them done first or do they just do the repairs and then just bill you?0

You can give them instructions as you like.
I prefer to wait while the service is done - I did that only yesterday - a full service on my car took only an hour and a half.
Or you could tell them that for any extra work that would be over £50 in total they should phone you for instructions before commencing the work.
In any case you tell them to retain any changed parts for your inspection - not just chuck them in the skip.0 -
Agree with above, wait while service, MOT is being done, I take my Kobo and have a free coffee. Then if anything extra is found I ask to see it immediately and make a decision on doing it now or later after getting quotes.0

I suspect the number plates were stolen, particularly if the car lived in a city area. Might be worth getting tamper proof screws fitted, especially if you also live in an inner city. Sometimes the police give them out for free.
Plate theft is rife round here and its ALWAYS little common hatchbacks that are targeted, for obvious reasons.0 -
I have a question. In my Toyota service book, the last date of service was 10/09/2013 which is stamped in the 9 year service box, the next service due is the 10 year one, which will be in 2015. I don't know what to do with this years service, shall I just leave it until next year? It seems the previous owner had it serviced when they took over from the first owner. Details below
Year 1 serviced on 15/09/06 ( intermediate)
Year 2 serviced on 31/05/07 ( full)
Year 3 serviced on 01/04/08 ( intermediate)
In the year 4 box it was serviced on 27/11/08 ( full)
In the year 5 box it was serviced on 08/09/09 ( intermediate)
In the year 6 box it was serviced on 10/09/10 ( full)
In the year 7 box it was serviced on 16/09/11 ( intermediate)
In the year 8 box it was serviced on 20/09/12 ( full)
In the year 9 box ( the car is 9 years old in September this year) it was serviced on 10/09/13 ( intermediate)
So do I get a full service this year or next?0 -
Should be 10000 miles or 1 year service intervals. The service will be due latest 10/09/2014

Thanks so I'll have to get my 9 year service stamped on the 10 year box. It's confusing me. When I went to book it online and put my reg number in it came up as having the 9 year intermediate doing when it's already been done, that's what is confusing me.0
