Moneyway One Bill

Options
My sis in law says she pays all her bills, utilities, council tax etc, through this company - she pays one monthly amount and they do the rest. I'm worried she's being ripped off, anyone know anything about them??

Obviously there will be some costs for using a service like this. I've just had a quick google around and saw references of a £15 monthly fee.

The question is does she see £xx as a reasonable amount to pay for a service where she doesn't see who's being paid and has relatively low control over the payments and has just one big lump sum come out of the account each month?

They call it ambitiously "home budgeting service" and apparently "charge a small fixed fee" for this service. The strange thing is that they seem to be ashamed to say anywhere how small exacty this fee is.

Both the above blog and their website seem to keep this fee top secret.

Well she will certainly be paying a fee to them for doing this.

I think it may be £15 a month(?) but she'd need to check her terms & conditions as it is not a product available to new customers so cannot check the rates online.
Her paperwork may also details the cost of cancelling and she may also be paying them for insurance cover and that probably wouldn't be competitive.

Most people would rather put their money towards their bills than pay someone to administer them.
I'd also guess people who use it may well not scrutinise their bills in as much detail and check the competitiveness of their tariffs etc with utilities.

Managing your own bill payments really isn't very difficult if you set up online accounts/direct debits / standing orders and open any post promptly etc.
