Vision of solicitor searches?

Sorry this may be a daft question, me and the missus are FTBs buying a new build from Redrow so are not sure. We have been given a final move in date for end of June.
The searches the solicitor does for us i.e. local authority, water, etc.. Should we have vision of these and have copies? Our solicitor emailed us in February advising he has exchanged contracts the day before for us and 'the searches were all fine'.
Yet I've found a nifty website today Land Registry Property Alert which lets you monitor the LR for up to 3 addresses. So I added our home to be, which informs me that our solicitors has lodged a search at the end of March (a month after he exchanged contracts for us and said 'the searches were all fine') and it goes on to say "to protect a pending: Charge" in favour of [our mortgage lender]..
Does this mean our solicitor hasn't even done the searches when he told us in February he'd already done them which 'were all fine'?
EDIT: I've bolded my 2 actual questions..
Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

For what its worth my solicitor sent me all of the searches. She also sent me a report as an overall view of the searches and drawing my attention to any parts which needed reading. I however read it all!
You pay for the searches so would expect them to be available to you. Once you have them you can see the dates that they were produced.
Just ask nicely for them.0 -
My solicitor provided me with a pack containing the searches, register of title, contract, register of local land charges, environmental searches, chancel certificate, property information form (ie fixtures and fittings included etc), list of all additional enquirers, management company information, share certificates of management company, service charge statements, management company accounts, minutes of management company meetings, a number of letters between the management company and previous owner, insurance certificates, company searches on management company, lease documentation and information leaflet on the development
In total the pack contained perhaps 500 pages of documents. Perhaps they are not always required but when it comes to selling the property in the future I now have all those documents handy0 -
On the property alert where does yours tell you the previous activity on the house? I've just done it to see what it says and be updated on our potntial property but it says there is no current activity, but the solicitors say they have the searches underway :S0

I would normally expect a solicitor to send the searches, not least to protect themselves by giving you the opportunity to ask any questions, and also to ensure that you share their view that they are all fine!
I *think* the one after exchange is standard - it checks that no-one has registered any new charges against the property that might affect you so it is a repeat not 'oops we forgot this'All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -

Most searches are not down with the Land Registry - so things like coal mining seacrch, local search etc would not show up. A search against the proeprty (to check whether there are any new charges) would register. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -
Thanks everyone for your help, it has been most helpful. I've sent my solicitor an email asking for copies of the completed searches for our own perusal and future reference.

I don't believe it shows you previous searches if they were a while ago, only recent and ongoing Land Registry searches and actions etc.0 -
My solicitor sent me everything by email.0
