No courtesy car!!!!!
Hello, here is my issue.
I have been paying £26 per month for a service plan for my new car.
It covers the usual including a courtesy car....BUT I can only drive automatics, and you guessed it, the car company don't have an Auto in there courtesy car fleet.
Where do I stand with this?????
Many thanks in advance.

I think you're probably stuck. You can ask them if they can get/hire you an automatic, but otherwise you'll probably need to do without for the hour the car is getting serviced.
Does the service plan make any mention of like-for-like or automatic courtesy cars, or allow you a choice of garages to take it to?
Maybe the first dealer only has manuals, but there's another one with an automatic.0 -
why not ask the dealer to do collect and return instead, assuming you can manage without the car for a day?0

I work nights, hence I need a courtesy car.
It's a new car from a dealership, coming upto it's 9000m service.
I did read the terms and conditions but nothing was stated whether the courtesy car would be automatic or manual.
Considering it's an auto that I bought, you might think they would have the odd auto fleet car knocking about for such customers.
Anyway I will be speaking to the manager in the morning, I will report back. Thanks for your replies.0 -

sorry i cant offer any help but just couldn't resist0 -
They are duty bound to find you a replacement that you can drive. Point out that the car they sold to you under their own terms, was an automatic. Therefore it is reasonable to expect that they should supply you with an automatic replacement.
I had the same problem a few years ago, and stuck to my guns by saying on the phone that I was going to hire an auto from another company unless they complied with the terms of their own contract. If it does not state that they cannot supply an auto, it follows that there is no difference under the contract.
EDIT: Is the reason why you have to drive an auto, because you have a disability? Can you use that?I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.
