Hanging baskets - when?

I have all my plants for the hanging baskets doing quite well in the little greenhouse thing (plastic covered tubes with a plastic covering, about six feet high with shelves).
The geraniums and fuschias look as though they should be planted up, and possiblly the lobelia, petunia in a week as well.
I usually put a trailing begonia in the middle of each basket, and it is the last to flower, but then goes all the way through to the Autumn.
Is it too early to start planting them up now?

Depending on where you are and the threat of frost.

Here in south wales I have no fear but I'm in a seaside town so its a little warmer anyway.

You might do a bit of hardening off to acclimatise.
  • I have had mine planted up for about 2 weeks and they are thriving. I have them hanging in the greenhouse! As long as you have somewhere frost free to hang them then they will be fine.
