Bank Charges Delay???

Hi everyone, I applied for my bank charges to be given back to me back in 2009-2010, I sent the template letter, and went through all the motions.
They then sent me a letter explaining that the issue will be dealt with when they European courts reached a verdict on it.
Since then (2010) I have heard nothing back.
Has anyone else had this problem and knows of my impending doom.
Cheers in advance

The courts reached a verdict in 2009. The banks won and don't have to refund any charges unless you can show you are currently in financial hardship. Even if you can, about 6 months is the norm, not years worth.

Thanks for your reply, how would you put is across to them that you are not in the best of financial situations?
Plus I imagine that my claim was taken out of the equation years ago.
They should have at least informed me0 -

it is very straight forward. You tell them you are in financial hardship to begin with. T That is a certain criteria. Such as having arrears, not being able to stay within your overdraft facility through non consumer spending and your statements not showing any luxury spending (such as mobile phones, sky TV, eating out etc)
They check your statements and if they agree with you then they will look at options to help you. However, these options may not be a refund. it may be no interest or charges for the next 6 months. or it could be just a refund of the charges in the last 6-12 months. it is down to them what they do.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
