Looking (briefly) at a DELL computer (XP) which locks up after password entry (apparently takes 30mins to display desktop).
I note on reboot a BIOS message says "Press F3 to activate core-releaser" Even Google cannot find this??
Tried Last Know Good Config - no progress. Will try Safe Mode later.

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

I DID a google search and this AMD feature didn't come up. It was a panic from an adjacent office. I'm going back there in half an hour. I'll hit F3 and see what happens...I guess IF the hidden CPU cores are activated then the box may spring back to life (fingers crossed).
Thansk guys will report back.0 -

you have to say it kinda serves them rght for using MSE as an av solution
however, that shouldn't have borked the bios settings, unless possible sw driver control over the cpu?......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
