Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I am desperate to switch from bt but apparently my number and postcode do not match making it impossible to switch, bt customer services are not much help getting the problem sorted with openreach, or are disinclined to do so.
Can anyone provide some advice?
thanks

Have they provided you with an alternative way of proving your identity? Usually there's more than one way to prove who you are..0

phone number and postcode do not match so not so much an identity problem as other providers unable to take over the line0

Do you live in a new build property? Or is this a different problem?0

no not a new build. Buildings been here 100yrs! Post office database
has the correct match, but apparently openreach does not, nobody seems to want to help at bt itself.0 -
There's really not much incentive for BT to do anything, they don't have a problem. I would be speaking to your new potential suppliers and asking them to take the problem on if they want your business.0

Interesting. Because the Post Office get all their postcodes from BT. Here, complete the form on this link -
https://bt.custhelp.com/app/contact_email/c/4950
It goes to the UK based BT Care team and they will take ownership of the problem. Though please note they can take up to 4 or 5 days to respond as they are only a small team.
Hope you get it sorted soon.0
