And this.Just trying to stop people wasting their own time and ours.
We've just done a re-advertisement, and someone did re-apply, they hadn't been shortlisted for interview last time and I don't think they re-wrote their application which MIGHT have made a difference. So, as elsien said, a waste of their time and ours.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

I applied for a job in January which I didn't get an interview for. I asked for feedback and when another job came up in the same organisation but for a different branch I tweaked my application form and did get an interview. Didn't get the job but now the branch that advertised in January have another vacancy so am reapplying there with the tweaked application form, plus may make a couple more changes.
When I got my feedback from the first one I was told that it was a good application but they only interviewed the first four or five and I didn't make the cut. I was specifically told to not let it deter me from making further applications. When I got the call about the unsuccessful interview I asked if I should hesitate in applying if anything else came up and got told that I should go ahead.
I'm working on the basis that they'll either give me a job or a restraining order sooner or later! :rotfl:3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -

Now you would think that I may have a criminal record, drug/alcohol problem or any other issue after being so rudely discounted(I don't of course), I simply sent off my perfectly presentable C.V and begging letter, received reply. The sad fact is that its an employers market and they can treat people how they want, with so many applicants for unskilled minimum wage, no benefit to the worker jobs like this, I found it particularly insulting as many of our local asda employees are erm... a little bit backwards shall we say, (no malice intended) I beg to understand the application process, maybe its a requirement and I was just overqualified. Yes that's it.
Perhaps you're simply NOT qualified and failed the simple test questions? Ever thought those backwards thinking employees actually completed the test(s) with better results than you? :rotfl:0 -

You might or might not be overqualified, I have no idea. What the 6 month rule means with mass employers is that anyone they reject cannot have an application accepted for any role till 6 months has passed, it's just a blanket rule and nothing personal. The idea is that in 6 months time the criteria or the CV or the skills may have changed.0 -
First impression of you aren't good you should try and work on that then maybe all the backwards people will stop getting employed before you.WasteOfTime wrote: »ok then thanks, I need to re think my attitude if i want a part time minimum wage job at asda then, good job you warned me0 -
I work part-time at Asda. I guess this "backwards" person managed to do something right then, because at no point does Asda ask for a CV. The whole application process is done online. Not implying I might be cleverer than anyone else of course, just saying ......0

I would hire the person who followed the application process rather than someone who didn't...0 -
It's a little dispiriting to see "Previous applicants need not apply" but it's simply the recruiter trying pre eliminate unsuccessful candidates who they've already decided they don't want to employ.
However, I'm of the opinion that "equal opportunity" does not exclude you from applying if you wish to do so. If you think you meet the criteria then apply, the worst they can do is reject you.:www: Progress Report :www:
