JSA and WTC?

My husband is self employed but with low income. He currently gets WTC.
I was at university until recently but have now stopped and wonder if I am able to claim JSA given that my husband is getting maximum WTC?
I was working part time until May last year, unsure if that makes a difference RE contribution based JSA......not sure if it matters how much you contribute (obviously being part time my contributions would be less than full time).
Only just started looking into it so really don't know much having never claimed JSA.

If you meet the requirements for WTC, it should be claimed as a couple, with any other benefits you could claim (LHA, CTB etc.)

If not, it should be a joint JSA claim.

  • Thanks, the tax credits are done as a household but the WTC comes in his name while the CTC comes in mine.
