Deep clean BBQ - mouse activity

I've got two - Weber Q100 portable gas BBQ and a Weber 57cm charcoal BBQ.
Both have been stored in the garage over winter but when I came to clear the place out this weekend I noticed evidence of a mouse having been in there. I'm clearing the place out and so far not found the little sod but it has shredded my tent and both of my bbqs were stored near to my tent. Little concerned the mouse may have been in contact with them both so need to know how to really deep clean them both so they are safe to use (thought of mouse pee on my bbq turns my tum
).
Many thanks

I wouldn't worry about it. BBQs sterilise themselves when you light them.0

light the BBQ put the cooking grids in and shut the lid, the temperature that a BBQ gets up to will soon kill any germs
you leave a BBQ in the garden overnight and you have no idea what runs over it so I always shut the lid down and let the heat kill any germs before use0 -
Thanks for your replies. Think I am just getting a bit paranoid about the horrible little thing being in my garage.
Was thinking of jet washing it and scrubbing it with disinfectant but if lighting its enough thats much easier.
Thanks everyone.0 -
If you want the cooking grills to get really nice and clean I would strongly recommend trying Oven Pride/BBQ Pride or any of the pound shop copies of these - cleaned the gril of my Weber kettle lastweekend and it came up like new.
If you're not bothered about it being sparkly clean, just sterile and safe to use then follow the above advice and get everything good and hot before use.0 -
Time to put some bait boxes down though, if the garage is attached to the house you must use traps.Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring0

Well garage has been cleared and swilled out with bleach! Going to get some bait boxes today and dot them around the garage and shed to hopefully stop the little critters getting in again.
The grill is pretty clean already so just want to ensure its all sterile, but as I have some Oven Pride in the cupboard I may just use that to make double sure. Give it a good scrub this week.
Only worry is did the little critter pee on my charcoal as the bag was open in a cupboard - or am I being too much of a worry now?0 -
Did some critter pee on the wood the charcoal came from before it was processed......? You can take concern too far!Adventure before Dementia!0

Clean the inside of a braai now that would be a novel thing to do.....:D0

If I was the paranoid sort, I'd worry more about all the crap floating around in the atmosphere before worrying about a bit of animal urine.Only worry is did the little critter pee on my charcoal as the bag was open in a cupboard - or am I being too much of a worry now?
As said above, the amount of heat being generated is enough to wipe out pretty much all germs known to man.Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it0
