    Had got a cushion in the lounge which had gone flat & annoying feathers poking through sticking to clothes. Was going to buy a new cushion pad, but I don't like the cheap ones where you just get a few handfuls of nasty scabrous-looking foam & funds are tight this month. Found an identical flat-looking cushion pad not being used in back of airing cupboard. Decided to open both cushions along top seam, remove feathers from spare one into the one I'm using & re-stitch. Decided to take this out into garden to do. Note to self if I ever do this again: 1) Don't choose a windy day 2) Make sure you are not wearing an angora top. I did manage to transfer sufficient feathers but they blew all over the garden & I was covered in them, like a sort of strange Yeti-woman, including in my hair & in my coffee! Sewed cushion back up. Stuck needle in finger (had to fetch plaster), stuck needle in thumb (another plaster) then broke the needle. Threaded another one. 6 stitches then that broke too! Needle no. 3. Completed the stitching & discovered feathers still poking through. Found old pillowcase & made a 2nd cover from that. Tried it back inside cushion cover & it fits & looks way better! Emptied rest of feathers into compost bin. Took myself off down the garden with the sticky roller to try & get the layer of feathers off myself, wondering what I was going to do about the 1000s of them spread all over the lawn.......that's when it all suddenly got a bit Disney. A group of sparrows arrived & started grabbing the feathers & flying off with them for their nests. At the same time, the kids next door must have got their bubble machine out because a big cloud of bubbles suddenly wafted over into the garden which looked quite pretty with all the birds & white feathers floating about! So......I have a lovely plumptious cushion which looks like new without having spent a single penny, but there were times when I wondered if this was a bit of make-do-and-mend gone too far! I do really like recycling & re-using though, so it kind of felt satisfying too.
    Next job for today....find a nice twiggy branch for making my Easter tree for the front window. Another no-spend project as have a box of decs I bought/made years ago to go on it which come out every year along with my 99p Shop chicks.

    Love it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
