Has anyone tried the EHIC Plus insurance for pre existing medical conditions. It's the cheapest i've seen but cheap isn't always the best.
Anyone got other companies i can try please.

we usually end up using Insure and Go, they cover my other half and his many ailments, or for short break away we usually declare them, and waive them.0

I second insure and go - their cover is pretty comprehensive, should you need to make a claim.
If you're stuck, read the key facts document for any policy you are looking at, and if unsure call them.0 -
You don't say your age! Saga has good cover for lots of pre-existing conditions and isn't that expensive - especially if you are buying an annual policy.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

I use insure and go too for myself and my son. I've never claimed but I have read all the paperwork and feel it's pretty comprehensive and the extra payments for various conditions are reasonable too.0

I use LV and when I had to claim they were really good. They even phoned to say my claim had been accepted but it would take a few days for the paper work to go through.0

Depends on your age and the condition but we use Colombus direct. They were one of the few that would cover DH's pre existing and at a reasonable cost.0

it can depend on your destination too.
There is no perfect insurance company but the above are reasonable but the big things to watch for if you are travelling abroad;
DO NOT take insurance from an insurance company OUTSIDE the UK - incuding Ireland. If there is any dispute the PRA or FCA have no authority outside the UK and the Irish Ombudsman is for Irish residents and companies.
DO NOT lie, fib or bend the truth, in the case of a claim your fraudulent statement (which it is) will invalidate ANY claims on the policy, not just yours.C. (Ex-Pat Brit)

Do you really need cover for the pre-existing condition?
I always exclude mine as the chances of my keeling over as a result of this condition during my 2 week trip to the sun are minuscule (<4%).
My primary concerns with travel insurance are cancellation and theft.0 -
I got a quote earlier this week for the 2 of us, with existing mediacl conditions. The only one I was accepted by online came in at £145 for 2 weeks .
I have just used insure and go and they have come back, with full coverage of all conditions, with similar cover for £66. That will do for me. Taking EHIC card too.0
