Question for Taiko!!! Re: Open university - switching to brick

I'm hoping Taiko can answer this,
my other half did a module at the OU which he didn't complete. Had funding through SF which will be something like 1.5k. It was in a subject he thought he would like but didn't get on with it. Hes now about to study an access course and then in 2015 would like to start a 3 year QTS course at university. How does the module affect student finance? Will it equate to having taken a year? I'm not sure where to look for an answer to this, google isn't yielding anything. I can find out the exact amount if needed

Used to be that OU study where no qualification was obtained did not count at all. Not sure if it has changed, but I'd need to check.0

I did some study with the OU, but it wasn't working out and I decided to apply for full time study. My time at the OU wasn't considered in my entitlement calculations at all. I did this before the student loan system came into effect for OU study, although I did receive a grant. At the end of the day, even if it is counted as a year now, it doesn't make any difference as everyone is entitled to one "extra" year so he should get full funding for his new course (not the access course).Sealed Pot Challenge #239

I knew that part but in the context of before student finance started being available for the OU. I would appreciate if you could look into this for me even if you aren't able to get a definitive answer. Even just a "it will count but can't tell you exactly how"I did some study with the OU, but it wasn't working out and I decided to apply for full time study. I worry that they would say he isn't entitled to his first year as that would mean we wouldn't be able to afford to have him not working.Money money money.
