Halifax internet banking is buggy? doesnt show transactions

Options
I opened a new Halifax current account online last night. Can login to it. Transferred £1 to the Halifax account from my HSBC account to test transfers.

Halifax account shows £1 in credit.
HSBC account shows £1 debited.

All good so far.

Go to Halifax internet banking to see the statements and to check where the £1 came from (yes from me, but want to see what it looks like)....

and it says: Sorry, there are no transactions to display.

Sorry?! How can there be no transactions to display when I transferred the £1....... where does Halifax think this money came from?

Is this normal or a bug?

Thanks for all replies :)

I have an old account and the same thing happened to me the other night. CC not showing recent purchases and no payments to paypal which shou;ld have been numerous.

Making internal changes maybe? Or pot luck on them backing up and slowing the system down?

    Yeah, thanks for that.
    It's now showing the transaction.

It doesn't show the sort code and account number of the source of the transaction, which is annoying.

Also I so far have no way to setup SO or DDs - their help page says there should be a "Make a payment" link next to the account - but I don't see it. Hmmm...

So far seems disappointingly limited in what a customer can do with it. I hope it's just something to do with it being a new account....

  • You need to get your activation code through the post before you can fully access internet banking.

One other thing I'd recommend is giving Halifax's telephone banking a call and asking them for a security number. It's a fall back if your internet banking is down/you can't get access to the internet/activation code gets lost in the post. You won't be able to call up and add new recipients etc. without a security number for telephone banking.

I don't think any of my online banking systems show the sortcode and account number of the payer, probably because it could be regarded as an unnecessary security risk.

It's the same as Lloyds, basically, which has always been one of the better ones.

Faster Payments sometimes show up in the balance immediately but don't appear in the transactions for a couple of hours.
