Hi,
Have just received an iPad Air, and thought it should be possible to load AVG mobile onto it - but how wrong I was!!
So with AVG out of the running, what would the best option be? Or does it have preloaded AV included?
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. I've had a word with one of our "techies" at work who has advised that there do not appear to be many, if indeed any, AV systems available for iPad and the like. It is alleged that there is no threat to the iOS system (as yet anyhow!!) but we will see....0

Are there any know viruses for an iPad that would necessitate the use of AV software. Given there are millions of devices in use you'd have expected that if there was an issue there'd be a (money making) solution0

The architectural design of iOS makes it practically immune to viruses. Apps run in their own 'closed garden' with no real file system shared between them. You can't subversively execute anything other than an app.
Also, all apps are approved and tested by Apple.0 -
I wholeheartedly agree with ringo, the iOS environment is so sandboxed that unless you have jailbroken your iThing, it is incredibly unlikely (so much so that we can regard it as 0%) that a trojan app will install itself onto iOS. As much as Apple's closed garden approach is ridiculed by the media, they have actually protected iOS from viruses.0
