G24 contractual pcn help please

I've just received a contractual pcn from G24 for £100. I can't afford to pay but with 2 small children to look after I'm nervous about the time needed to invest in fighting it. I also have serious baby brain and am struggling to process all the info on here!
Apologies for daft questions, but...
How long, realistically, is it likely to take to resolve if I protest this?
The carpark in question was outside a shop. I used it as I had an appointment nearby but the appointment ran late, hence I was parked for 72mins. I didn't even go into the shop. Do I still have a leg to stand on?
I think the carpark has clear signage. I knew I should only park there for 1 hour. Should I still include the point in the letter about signage?
Am I right in thinking my first step is to use sample template and lodge my appeal online?
Thanks in advance!

One email will get this crushed. G24 don't do court and will back down as soon as they see you mean business. Send the following email :
Dear G24,
This is an appeal against the charge issued to the vehicle with the registration XXXXXX, charge reference XXXX.
It is the registered keepers assertion that :
1. The charge is not a genuine pre-estimate of loss.
2. The signage does not conform to the BPA CoP to which G24 has committed.
3. G24 has no authority to issue charges over the land in question.
As such the charge is rejected. You should now either cancel said charge or provide a POPLA code for the registered keeper to appeal to the independent adjudicator.
Any further correspondence other than confirmation of cancellation or a POPLA code will be considered harassment and could result in legal action being taken against you.

Thank you !
OP - I'll add a guarantee, if G24 don't cancel it I will write your POPLA appeal for you"The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0 -
Thank you!!! I feel much better now.
When you say to send an email, do you mean via appealyourcharge.co.uk? I might be going blind but I couldn't see a contact email address on the PCN.0 -

Yes, that's the way to do it ( and I didn't mean to sound like Mr Punch ! ). Once you input the PCN ref and your registration you will be offered a free text field to detail why you wish to appeal - my text above is what you then need to use."The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0 -
Great, thanks for clarifying! I'll get onto it ASAP.0

Sorry, just started the process and have another question. When I fill my personal details in on the website should I just say I'm the registered keeper, rather than driver & registered keeper?0

Less than 24 hours later, I've had an email saying they're waiving the charge
I can't thank you enough for the help!0 -
