...arguing over a few hundred poundss on a property worth... £X00,000 is not really worth the hastle.
My thoughts entirely. When I viewed the house I am buying I thought of all these things I could check/insist on, pull out of the bag at a later stage..... then I thought "why'd I bother?" - it'll only create extra hassle and is a drop in the ocean overall for other things that will be discovered, be needed, be wanted etc.
I'll be buying my (almost brand new) house without nit picking and f4nnying around.0 -

The *first* day we saw the house, literally one of the first things out of the estate agent's mouth was 'the vendor will be fixing the fence, dont worry'.
When we made the offer, it was made subject to the fence being repaired.
When we drew up the exchange contract, the seller said, again, the fence would be repaired and allowed it to be included as a clause in the contract.
The whole way along he has been saying it will be done, from day one. If he had no intention of doing it, why say he would for 5 months?0 -
For the record, we negotiated £400 for the fencing!0
