Buying A Van

in Credit cards
I could be totally wrong here and apologies if I am. But could you ever buy a van with a 0% credit card?
For example, could I buy one for say £5,000 on a 18month 0% interest card, make my payments every month, then switch the balance to another 0% card once the free period is up and keep doing that until the payment was cleared?
Is this legal? As could comfortably pay it off in say 2 cards at 18 months 0%, but to do same thing over 36 months with a van dealer would cost a fair bit in interest?
Interested to see the answers and thanks in advance.

yes its totally legal, but who says your gona get accepted for a credit card? who says there gona give you 5k, then who says you will be accepted for a bt card?
if you don't currently have a credit card then you have a slim hope of getting one, and probably no chance whatsoever of getting 5k on a first card.0 -
You'd also want to check whether the van dealer would allow you to pay by credit card. And if so, whether they add a surcharge for this.0

Oh I know I'm pretty certain I wouldn't get this first off but just wanted to know if it was possible. Been looking at some local dealers and one charges 11% which I feel sounds so high!Never trust a plumber wearing wellies0 -
As others have pointed out it is possible, but there are risks attached!
I was at a vehicle auction recently, which included a few vans as well as cars and they had a sign up saying they took credit cards for a 2% surcharge. Garages seem to be around the same, I've often heard 2.5% quoted. So that would be a cost, but not a huge one if spread over 18 months.0 -

Then again you might! I got a Santander 18 months card recently and they gave me £6800 limit, so it might well work if you fit their profile.0 -

I have already been accepted and have in my possession a 31 month bt card
I also have the funds in savings to pay it off should I had been declined the 2nd, hope that helps answer your question (not to mention the continuous offers on my Barclaycard and mbna cards for bts)
what I was trying to say to the op was don't get your heart set on been able to do this, as we all know credit is a privilege not a right.0
