Debt Recovery Plus letter

Hi all

My partner has received a letter from Debt Recovery Plus with a Demand for payment of an unpaid parking charge from EuroCarParks.

I called them to enquire what this is as we have not received any prior correspondence regarding this matter. They said 2 letters should have been sent to us previously however neither of these have been received. The lady at Debt Recovery Plus said that there is nothing we can do now other than pay but I'm sure that is their stock response.

What can we do in this situation?

I've read the sticky notice but only seems to apply for the initial PCN. As this has never been received, what should we do now?

Any advice greatly received.

read the newbies sticky thread, there is a whole section in there about debt collectors and their letters , seemingly you missed it or ignored it

you also missed the part that tells you to appeal , regardless (to the PPC not the debt collector)

and you missed the part about getting the landowner to cancel the charge too

and you missed the part about complaining to the BPA because you have not received an NTK

The point of writing is to state your case once. You won't get a POPLA code, you'll get junk mail, but keep it ALL in a file. See the reply I wrote in the link, post #4. You should complain to the owner and/or retailers in person (Store Managers) as well, as Redx says. Or email the CEO of the retailer if it was a retail park.

You do realise that if anyone pays a fake PCN - or takes debt collector letters seriously - after checking with a forum like this, they would need their head examining? You appear to have skim-read the NEWBIES advice thread, and given up as it's long. Well it's long because it covers all eventualities and stages including a whole post about debt collector letters!

Also in the NEWBIES thread why do you think it says 'please don't start a new thread about Debt Recovery Plus'...oh wait, you have! Ooops...

The reason why is because this is soooo boring to us because there are soooo many threads exactly like this and you simply need to search this forum for 'Recovery' as a keyword to get as bored as us about this letter chain. We have had it up to 'here' with this subject. I know it's new to you but that's why DRP are specifically mentioned in the sticky thread with links to their letters in post #4 as well, in case some newbies can't yet work out how to SEARCH.

I beg you not to update with every letter received...we don't need it all over again, letter by letter, please. Do the search I suggested, please save us this yet again.
