£250 two years but still no breakdown on what was done or other costs.
If some of that was for normal wear and tear items thne it starts to look even cheaper.0 -
If all you spent on the car was £250 last MOT and another £250 this MOT then that is pretty good going. Keep the car as it's better the devil you know.0

My last MOT and major service cost me £1,200, I would rather had your bill.0 -

The other pertinent question regards your attitude to maintenance. Do you view the MOT as a once-a-year highpoint of vehicle condition (or even, gawd help us, all the maintenance the car needs), or do you view it as the basic minimum standard of roadworthiness?0 -
Problem is that servicing and mot repairs are visible bills but depreciation on a new car isn't. So for some people it will appear better to get the new car purely because they are ignoring the invisible costs.
£250 sounds reasonable for an older car especially if you aren't doing other maintenance.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -

That depends on the make and model of the car and were is is garaged every night etcDo you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring0 -
Pretty much everything that I was going to say has been covered. £250 a year to get through an MOT is cheap motoring.
People forget the amount of consumables on a car. Things will wear out eventually.
Clutches, Belts, Service Items, Tyres, Brakes, Suspension components etc will all need replacement on any car at some point.
Baffles my mind why people go and buy a new car because it needs a few new tyres and a backbox, do they think if they replace their car, they won't need to replace these items?
I've known people go and spend £5k on a newer car because theirs needed 2 new shocks and some brake pads! Crazy!!0 -
Any news on what you decided to do with the car then?0
