Evans Halshaw Deal - Walking Away?

I went and looked at a car last weekend at my local Evans Halshaw Garage.

The car i went for had sold but they found a similar car at another branch that was close to what i was after.

Im part-ex'ing mine as part of the deal because i need a car for work and its the easiest way so, We agree'd a deal on my car and agree'd a deal in principle on the car im looking at buying.

This includes the 2 year extended breakdown warrenty which ive since found out is a complete waste of time.

However i cant view the car untill this weekend as its been transported from the other branch sometime this week.

I've signed paperwork saying i've accepted the deal for my car and i've signed paperwork saying im happy to have the extended warrenty (even though im not now i've found out how crap it can be) and i've put down a £250 deposit which they insisted i give before they transported the car between their garage's.

My problem is i've since found another car for sale which i prefer and is more to what i want... Can i walk away from the deal and get my deposit back or will they try penalize me or tell me im locked in the deal??

HELP!!!

Thanks

Matt

I would think that you will lose the deposit as they have had to transport it around for you (although I wouldn't buy a car that I haven't seen, surely there is a get-out clause if you don't like it?)

So the car you prefer will costs £250 more.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

they said if i don't like it then i do get a full refund i checked that out before hand but obviously if the car i prefer sells in the mean time...

There both the same price apart from the preferable one is about £300 cheaper as it doesnt have the 2 year warrenty included

Honour your deal and take the £250 hit

Honestly I would find another dealer.

I bought a car from a dealership which was part of a national chain but they shipped the car in for a test drive before I committed.
