Basically I want to have a car before I go to university in september.
I was thinking about leasing a car as this will be less risk of it breaking down and costing more money etc.
As this will only be a 4 month contract is it possible to get one? or would I have to take out a yearly one and give it back before I go?
Just want some advice really and any other options for example taking out a loan and buying a second hand car instead of leasing through a dealer.
Thanks

I think your issue here is affordability. Have you got a good wage coming in? If you are a student that is going to be an issue.
Secondly, lease companies are known for picking up any tiny mark on a car so outside, on the street in a student zone doesn't sound like a good idea....
Fianlly, four months - what's stopping you getting something cheap to run about it which is tested and road legal? More likely to get your money back. See the shed thread for success stories. What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -
You won't be able to lease a car for 4 months very cheaply, if at all and hiring a car for four months won't be cheap either.
As said, buy a £500 box with a long MOT and throw it away when your done with it."Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0
