Ultimately it'll go into the garage under warrant for review but at times you guys here know more than the garage does.
With our mercedes when you lock the car the door mirrors fold in. When you unlock the car the door mirrors dont unfold until you open the door - at least not within the time it takes to open the boot and load it with the weekly shopping.
A few times when I have come back to my car, mainly at home thankfully, the doors are unlocked and the mirrors unfolded. As I was concerned that I hadnt locked the door I have made a very conscious effort to stop and check its locked. I did so last night and this morning it was unlocked and mirrors out.
Now it could be, though unlikely, that the unlock button is being pressed whilst the key is in my pocket but then I am confused as to why the mirrors are unfolded? I am sure also in the past when I have unlocked it but not opened any door/boot then after a short period it relocks itself again. I normally approach the car with the keys in my hand so there is no chance its unlocked itself as I come up to it.
A number of neighbours also have mercs but I imagine that a fault with the system is more likely than others keys unlocking our car.
Any ideas?

It may well be just a sticking lock mechanism that is failing to engage, so the whole system unlocks to let you know it is insecure (seems to be taking it's own sweet time though); but I'd get it on a Star Tech machine asap to make sure it is not a failing immobiliser system that is going to leave you with an annoying non-start.0

Its only happening once a week or so, havent stood around for long to see if it unlocks itself again but the mirrors moving is certainly audible and I live/park in a very quiet place so suspect if it was within 20 seconds of me locking it that I'd hear it unlocking again as I walked up the path.0

Are all teh door locks working? Any lazy ones?
With the Mondeo if one of the doors doesnt lock properly then the car will unlock itself instantly.
Does it flash the lights when its properly locked /deadlocked?
I have locked and the lights didnt flash upon checking the car i have found a door not shut properly or i have left the boot open.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Both the doors locks are working, or at least both the buttons go down - havent physically walked round to check the other one. Its certainly not unlocking itself instantly as its not quiet in locking/unlocking and you'd hear it even a dozen paces away.
The lights do flash when it locks as well as the wing mirrors folding in. The lights come on when you unlock it but the wing mirrors dont unfold until you open the door but when I've returned to the vehicle and found it unlocked the lights are off suggesting its been unlocked for a while and the mirrors are unfolded which is adding the further confusion.0
