Winning on Facebook

I won a competition on a Facebook like and share on Saturday and the winning announcement came up on my feed on my phone, but not the feed on my laptop (strange?)
Anyway, I replied and all is fine.
Today is Tuesday and I've googled myself and checked social searcher, the winning circle (both) and MSE facebook winners page and nothing has come up about it anywhere.
Is this normal?

Sorry I'm a bit unclear as to your query, from what you are saying you have contacted the company and you are getting the prize? If so why are you concerned that you aren't finding yourself on other searches?Rational judgement, now, at this very moment.
Virtuous action, now, at this very moment.

I have won numerous times on Facebook. Only 2 show up in ANY way of searching. Don't worry!December Wins: £300 worth of board games, £500 Tesco Vouchers Best Win in 2023: £500 Tesco Vouchers0

Yes, it's normal. All of the facebook comps I've won (and there aren't many) have never come up in a social search. I wonder if it's because the searchers aren't 'likers' of the specific page.
FWIW I wouldn't rely on social searchers to notify you of FB wins.Thank you to everyone who posts on the competitions boards. You all rock!0 -
Apparently Facebook is now "controlling" what you see on your newsfeed.
My newsfeed shows up hardly any posts from a lot of companies I like and follow and it is driving me loopy not being able to see all their posts. The best things in life are free.....0 -
As Hannonle said, FB is notoriously difficult to find wins on via any of the searching clients.
If it's a prize I really want, I'll make a note of the end date and keep checking back to the FB page (not on my newsfeed - as Sugarbabe said, many companies' posts won't show up on there unless you've been very interactive with them - lots of likes and comments etc).0 -
Thanks for all your replies. I like the idea of saving competitions to check for wins. I have stuck to app only in the past but had a few days off work so thought I'd give l&s a try, but it's not for me.
I'm not concerned about not getting the prize, as I said it's all fine. Was just wondering what would have happened it if hadn't popped up on my feed, I would have no other way of knowing I'd won, that was all my query involved.
Thanksx

There's a function that can make things a bit easier but not much on Facebook.
Go onto your Facebook page, there is a drop down arrow on the right hand side of the settings "cog" on the top right hand side of your page.
Click on it and then click "Activity log" and it takes you through in date and time order your activity on facebook. If you share comp posts, you can click on "Your posts" on the right hand side menu and it will take you through in date and time order all of your posts.
Also, makesure your settings on your facebook news feed are set to "Most recent" rather than "Top stories", if you are having a search for wins via your news feed. You can do this by being on your news feed and on the top right hand side menu under your profile pic it says "News Feed" click on that and it will give you the two options, click on "most recent"
I have won twice on facebook. First win they PM'd me (always check your other box), second win i found on the facebook winners thread, i never would have known otherwise.
So i would say, if we are all doing the same comps on FB that have been posted here, we should all keep a lookout for these comps ending and try and post to facebook winners thread if another member has not already done so.0 -
I find just a google search more effective than Social Searcher. A recent win on Facebook was no where to be seen on either.0

I haven't checked since this most recent 're-design' of facebook but there used to be an option, when you liked a page, to ask to see all activity from them on your newsfeed which meant that you saw everything and not just what FB decided to show you. It was in a drop-down menu either on the like button itself or very near by to it iykwim.Thank you to everyone who posts on the competitions boards. You all rock!0
