Housing benefit question

I have own council/housing association house, one child living with me.
Claim full housing/council tax benefit due to ill health.
I am on esa support, dla.
I am enquiring as to how it would effect my claim if my partner was to move in. He is also on esa support and unable to work. He rents privatly himself and recieves some housing benefit.
Please do not critisise me about being on benefits, i have seen many times this has happened. I just need to know what will happen because i have no intention of frauding whatsoever. x

Do you intend to have a joint tenancy?
Which ESA are you both on? Income based/contribution based? Any savings?0 -
Basically when your boyfriend moves in then all your benefits will become joint claims and you need to notify every department of the change of circumstances.
The benefits will then be assessed on both your incomes and savings.0 -
no savings, contribution esa support group.- both.
No, i want him registered as living here but not on the tenency so that if things do not work out ,he will not have a claim on house atall as need to protect my sons roof over his head.
Its a huge move for me this one because we have lived alone for nearly 7 years.
once he has moved in which is a couple months time i will then call everyone i need to and make a joint claim.
what i wondered is if the joint claim would be enough to cover the rent ?

You will both still be entitled to your individual ESA as they are contribution based and not time limited in the support group.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -
