claiming PIP

Hi all, I hope someone is able to give me a bit of advise that google can't (well possibly it can but I got very confused :o)...

I was wondering if I am able to claim PIP for hip pain, I am under the hospital and had 4/5 coritizol injections over the last couple of years which help for about a month then back to the pain :(

The hospital has digonised this as chronic tendinitis but my GP isn't sure with this and thinks its a reoccuring Bursitis, I know that PIP isn't really interested in the diagnosis just what I can do. Luckly I work in a job which is mainly sat down so don't have to worry about loosing my job because of it. Over the last 2 weeks it has got progressively worse to the point where I am driving the 3-5 minute walk from where I live to work and on consent pain killers. I called the hospital and the next available appointment they have is the 2nd June  I also have reoccuring problems with my knees and back from when I was younger which due to limping has come back!

Some days I even struggle with the 5 steps from my room to the toilet and use the wall for support which is bit of an issue as I also have bowel problems which are currently being investigated but when I have to go I have to go!

Is someone able to point me in the direction of the guidelines for the mobility part of PIP?

Also I'm going on a charity overseas project in the autumn, the charity is fully aware of my mobility problems and given contingencies and support for me while away as I'm going on a project will this count against me applying?

I'm 26 and in full time employment
Thanks to money saving tips and debt repayments/becoming debt free I have been able to work and travel for the last 4 years visiting 12 countries and working within 3 of them. Currently living and working in Canada

    Hi OP,

    Link is : https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/pip-assessment-criteria

It has both care and mobility assessment criteria, from gov.uk.

To sum up - if you can walk 20m most days without severe pain or discomfort, then that will not alone qualify you for PIP.
Short absences from the UK of up to 13 weeks may be ignored for PIP.
(different rules apply if you are taken ill)

It may qualify you for the lower mobility part for PIP.
