Brighton Buses made a serious pricing error on their website.

1 year ticket for 4.90£.

now they have charged my card that amount. My question is can they apply the correct amount to my card, and if they have advertised and sold me this item, where do I stand legally if I use.

They cannot charge you another amount.

However how do they provide this year ticket? Have you recieved it yet?

They might not send it or may be able to 'cancel' it.

Yes has already been added to account. Smart card just need touching on bus pad.

You need to read the terms and conditions as to when the contract is formed. Once the contract is formed they cannot then change the terms inc the price.

With mail order it is typically when the goods are dispatched or the service starts. I dont know how the brighton buses work to know if you'll be getting a new card or if the old one just "picks up" the new ticket the next time you use it etc?

If they do spot the error before the contract is formed they cannot simply charge you the extra but can either just cancel the order and refund the monies or give you the option of paying up or cancelling
