I have electricity only with economy 7 heaters! Over the past 10 years I have been supplied by a number of energy suppliers. I started out with a pre payment meter with then man web! They gave me a huge bill which I couldn't understand as I paid for what I used. I then changed to British gas keeping the pre payment meter. This was ok until I decided to pay by direct debit to try and save money. To do this I found edit were cheaper. They put me on a monthly direct debit plan of £80 PCM which I paid without fail. In this time no one came to look at my meter I am unsure whether or not I gave them readings but eventually they.y slapped me with a bill for £1,400 so I arranged to pay £47 PCM and changed to British gas. I was put on a direct debit plan of £130 PCM which again was paid every month without fail I had my meter read once by one of their employees. They then slapped me with a bill for over £500. I then stopped paying edf as I couldn't afford to pay the 2 and my other bills due to having my hours cut. I then went with utility warehouse and they did the same only this bill was for over £600! I have just switched to Scottish power and am awaiting a new pre payment meter. In the mean time I am still left with paying £45 PCM to the 3 energy companies. Could anyone possible give me advice on what to do as I feel we are being unfairly treated as I don't know if ere is something wrong with our meter or what for them to keep giving me these huge bills that I can't afford to pay
Thanks in advance

If you don't read your meter yourself then you have no idea how much electricity you are using or whether you are actually paying for it - which it appears you aren't. Without knowing how much you are using you can't reduce your consumption or check your bills to make sure you are paying for what you use
I doubt that there's anything wrong with your meter but you need to take control yourself, not just wait for a ginormous bill to drop through the door - it's too late then because you've used it and then got to pay for it.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0
