help to find a caddy?

My humax expired recently due to water ingress(through the cable) before I recycled it I took the hard drive out to see if I could use it again.
It is a Western Digital WD3200AVVS WD AV-GP, can someone point me in the direction of something to put it in? also the tv recordings that are on there, can they be watched on my computer?
Also will it need a power supply and cables? TIA

As for watching the recordings it depends if they are HD or SD, plus the disk is more than likely to be EXT2/3 unix format. HD will be encrypted SD not so they will play for example with VLC

Just a warning to others with a Humax hard drive.
Older Humax units have IDE drives rather than the SATA one mentioned above.

How can we give you any sensible advice if you won't tell us what model it is?

It's like posting a message saying 'My Samsung doesn't work'.

If you read the post, the OP is asking about reading from the WD3200AVVS WD AV-GP hard drive, not the Humax PVR which is no more!

But without knowing what model of Humax it is, we don't know how it's partitioned the disk, what format, or anything like that.

Maybe it's ext2, maybe it's ext3. Maybe it's saved SD TS files, maybe not.
  • thank you all for the replies,... as for the reply
