I still spend too much - but, yes, comping has turned me into a nightmare with certain ones!

Things like holidays - I am utterly determined to win one! Desperate to go - can't really afford to book up myself so desperate to win. But things that I would have previously gone out and bought - like a barbecue (which I'm also desperate for!) or DVD, no way. Maybe once summer's here I'll reluctantly buy a BBQ, but it just seems so likely that I will win one one day lol.

Trouble is I got very lucky in the first few months (back in around 2009 I think) and thought if I wanted something, I'd just win it instead. Took me a while to realise it don't really work like that lol.

Wins are fairly few and far between now, but it doesn't stop me hanging on instead of buying. I rarely buy makeup as I have won lots - same with hair stuff.

    Jx
2024 wins: *must start comping again!*

Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for every little win, but I'm so used to getting free stuff now that I'm resentful of actually buying anything :rotfl: I have to try and win whatever I need before I buy it, drives my OH mad.

Has anyone else found this? :o

No, I mostly flog off the booty I win, which pays for the stuff I buy.

    Comping is great :)

    I've been Money Tipped!
I have always been a skinflint
I am thinking of cutting down the comping I do because of the electricity it uses

...plus, I also have the fear that if I do just go buy one, I will end up finally winning one the next day :D

This happened to me! Hubby bought me a kindle for Christmas after me moaning for ages that I wasn't winning one then in January I got an email telling me I'd won one in the advents!! It made a nice present for my mum though. :)

Top wins - Florida holiday, North Carolina holiday, Sky TV for a year, wine for a year

Thanks to all who post and good luck to everyone!!:rotfl:
  • Im the same lol
On a little 15 month journey
  • There are certain things I will never buy because I know I can get free samples online, I'm usually laughed at but why buy things like perfume and makeup when the brands send you them for free? :D
