Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for every little win, but I'm so used to getting free stuff now that I'm resentful of actually buying anything :rotfl: I have to try and win whatever I need before I buy it, drives my OH mad.
Has anyone else found this?

It is sort of the other way round for me. I was a skint flint who didn't spend anything and didn't get anything for free and now I'm a skint flint who gets free stuff. Yay for comping!! :jThanks to all OPs and everyone who helps/posts etc!!:T0

Ooh I agree.
I'm rubbish with technology, but really fancied one of those computer tablet thingy. Over a year or so I've saved up my comping cash wins and finally have the £200 to buy one. However, when it came to actually spending the money, I couldn't do it, so I'm waiting to win one instead.
I've always been tight, but comping has definitely made me worse - I suppose Martin Lewis would be proud....0 -
I only realised I was like this when I got birthday & christmas money in December and STILL refused to buy a kindle
I have been entering every kindle comp for what seems like forever but still haven't won. In my defence, I'm a huge book reader and don't know if I will actually take to a kindle....plus, I also have the fear that if I do just go buy one, I will end up finally winning one the next day£2019 in 2019 challenge:£50/2019

Glad it's not just me.
I definitely spend less on beauty products, clothes, books and DVDs. Not to mention presents for people's birthdays/christmasses etc.
I think I'd better stop telling family and friends about my comping activities though. Everytime I give someone a birthday present they think I've won it. I mean, it's probably true, but still... :rotfl:0 -

I was bought a Kindle a couple of years ago, I have to admit it sits uncharged in my drawer most of the time unless I go on holiday. Nothing beats a real book.0 -
I've been entering competitions to win a digital camera for ages- no luck so far, so today I went and bought myself one.
Reckon now I've bought one, I'll probably win one! Sods law, got to be.0 -
I find I don't buy as many Blu Rays or video games on release date anymore. If I can try and win a copy I'll do that....then buy it when I don't end up winning one:p0

I often think to myself "I'm gonna be really annoyed if I buy this and then end up winning one tomorrow"...so it means I do less shopping because I can't bring myself to take the risk!0

Quite the opposite for me, I see lots of prizes that I didn't know I wanted or in some cases didn't know existed, so it's costing me because I'm buying them.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

I'm one of those who puts off buying things because I think as soon as I buy the item then I'm bound to win it! It certainly stops impulse buys which is good and if I still really want something after a month or two then I know it won't be a waste of money.Thank you to everyone who posts on the competitions boards. You all rock!0
