Spilt drink over passport photo

So my friend left his son's passport photos and forms to be signed (for his passport!) but my son managed to spill a drink over it and it had to be my diet coke, not something clear like lemonade!
I feel terrible as my friend's son is only 3 and it was probably a nightmare getting him to sit for a photo anyway. So I dried it out and it looks fine but there is a teeny weeny bit of coke stained around the edges of the photo. Do you think this will be ok?

Gov website says photos must be unmarked on both sides.
I think the best bet would be to use Post Office Check & Send service, they should be able to say whether the photos would be acceptable, although there's no guarantee it would be accepted at HM Passport Office even if PO say it would.
Alternatively, there is a Helpline number or email address shown on Gov website that you might try.

Where did you get the photo done? If it wasnt a machine can they not do reprints?0

If was just the certified photo that should be ok. As long as the one that's blank on the back is unmarked as that's the one that will be scanned on to the passport0

Passport photos often come in sets of four - it might be that they have a spare.0

Thanks. I plucked up the courage to tell him about the photos and thankfully he has spares! Phew! I felt so bad!0

He may have more, had mine done at max spielman and they come in 8's. No way I'd use a booth with a child.
Ring him up and ask as the likelihood is that if you can see coke stain then they will just reject it.0 -
