That's what the comparison site worked out, that's what I calculated myself and that's what I'm paying FU every month so I'm quite happy.
The sums aren't difficult so you should be able to work it out yourself - don't just rely on the comparison site, make sure you do your own working out using the tariff rates given on the suppliers website to cross check. Also ensure that the quote you get from the supplier has the same tariff name, rates & T&Cs that you think you are signing up for. You get a seven day cooling off period so you can back out if it's wrong.
Thanks for that. Did FU actually confirm what the Monthly Direct Debits would be before you signed up or during the sign up process, or did you have to wait till after the switch to find out what they proposed to charge you?
Many Thanks - Avenue0 -
I'm kind of confused by EDF's pricing now. I've just received their confirmation that they will switch me from the fixed May 2014 to the Fixed June 2015 Blue+price promise on 1st May.
However despite the 2015 Tariff being higher than the 2014 Tariff they are reducing my initial direct Debit? They had already reduced my 2014 direct debits from £70 pm to £61 pm as I had a little credit on the account of £54. But now they say my first payment on the new tariff will be £59 pm (Gas £29 & Elec £30)!
My annual usage has been fairly consistent and lower than average. Last years figures were.
2,589 kwh Elec x 11.37p = £294.37
365 days Elec Standing charge x 14.00p = £51.10
10,338 kwh Gas x 3.445p = £356.14
365 days Gas standing Charge x 22.00p = £80.30
Direct Debit (CREDIT) - £46.92
VAT £36.75
Total £771.74
So my £61 pm doesn't quite cover that usage but does the charges when the Direct Debit Credit I have on the account is factored in.
However the new tariff compared to old is:-
Elec 13.73 per kwh (11.37 OLD)
Standing Charge 18.90 per day (14.00 OLD)
Gas 3.722 per kwh (3.445 OLD)
Standing charge 26.25 per day (22.00 OLD)
Based on those figures my working out of the costs would be in Total just over £900 per year or £75 per month!
Could EDF be deliberately putting a low figure on my Direct Debit to initially make it look more appealing & to stop a switch?
I'm not sure what to do on this....of course no one wants to pay more than they need....but I just cant see their figure of £59 per month being correct unless I'm missing something.

Does your monthly Direct Debits match what you were quoted on the comparison sites and did First Utility confirm what the Monthly Direct debit would be before you signed up to them?
Many Thanks - Avenue
Yes my direct debit was the same as the comparison site. I was told how much it would be and what date the first one would be collected before the switch took place.0 -

Thanks for that, just checked again & Uswitch are predicting savings of £90 per year so I think i'll do the Switch!
Did you need to ring them at any point during the switch to sort this or did it all run smoothly online?

I rang them once as I pointed out in my original post but that was really only me panicking because I had given them and EDF my final meter readings and EDF generated a bill leaving me with £4.85 credit so I cancelled my direct debit. The next day the EDF website was showing my original credit so had cancelled the bill. I was concerned that if they wanted another reading I could end up owing them money and they would charge me because of the direct debit cancellation. Cancelling it has probably caused a problem anyway because they can't refund my credit balance.0 -

Ive decided to stick with EDF, I had switched from the 2014 May fix, to the June 2015 Blue+Price Promise, but have just got my Statement & they've now come out with a July 2015 Blue+Price Promise which is cheaper and I've switched to that one. Payments £72 per month which isn't much difference from what I was originally paying & less than the June Fix!
