Does anyone have any thoughts on this matter? A very dear friend has had Iggy for some eleven years following his rescue from a 'chav' owner. He is now approximately 12 years old.
Unfortunately, my friend now has very serious health issues and needs to find a responsible, knowledgeable new home, preferably in the South Coast area for monitoring purposes. The fact Iggy is a male he cannot be kept with other males as apparently they fight.
If any of you helpful people can think of a solution or any suggestions (but NOT putting him down) would be most grateful.
Thank you for your time.

There are several rescues that specialise in reptiles and other exotics. I would suggest that your friend approach one of them and ask for help. I have no personal experience but others here might be able to recommend a rescue they know more about.
This one is based in Brighton: http://www.rspcareptilerescue.co.uk/index.php

You could also try local animal care colleges. They often have the space needed to rehome an boy iguanaFormerly
