Small Claims Court

I'm after some advice regarding teh small claims court.
I am just about to start proceedings against a letting compny that I used who neglected their duties and damaged my property. We have been involved in trying to resolved the situation however it had to escalate to solicitors letters being written. What I would like to know is, is the fee for the solicitors letters recoverable? I know legal fees are not in small claims proceeding however would the solicitors letters be justified as expenses?
Thanks in advance

Yes but a solicitor must claim the costs themselves..0

Thanks for the reply. Could you explain how this works? I am taking the LA to small claim, I assume I leave out the costs of legal letters? Does the solicitor then charge me for the letter and try and claim back on my behalf or do they claim direct from the LA and not invoice me for them in thr first place?
