hotel whos responsible?

I booked a hotel through booking.com and on arrival to the hotel we checked in went to our room but were very disappointed. The ceiling was covered in mould, the toilet was in a cupboard, the sink was at the bottom of the bed and filthy, the ceiling had holes in, the bed had wheels and to be held in place holes had been made in the floor to hold it in place. Ok so I was disappointed but for hey it will have to do then my son went to toilet and came out crying, he had cut his foot on the flooring as there was a huge chip out of the floor tiles. This was within 10 minutes of check in.

So I decided it would not do and went to reception to request a refund but they told me they couldn't as it was booked through booking.com anyway they said theu would send us to their sister hotel which we went to again it was dirty but at least the tiles werent chipped. I did say I wasnt happy but as it ws 10.30pm and I had 2 young children so I said if they could not refund we would have to stay and take it up with booking.com the following morning.

Booking.com are saying its the hotel responsible and should have refunded but the hotel are saying no my co tntract was with booking.com so will not do anything.

Whos right?

As your contract was with booking.com, I would say they are responsible.

However, around the net, they are fairly well known for giving people crap hotels, so I don't know how easy it will be to get a refund.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)
