Hi. My husband is leaving me so I am going to have to claim some benefits :-(
He isn't going until June once our son has finished his gcse's. Do I put in a claim before or do I need to wait until he has gone.
Thanks

We are still living in the same house I didn't think we could be classed as separated until he moves out.
The only benefits I get are the ones I said above and child benefit. My husband earns to much for anything else.0 -
Thank you for your help blondebubbles. X0

It is possible to be treated as separate for benefit purposes. However, you would need to have compliance interviews and be prepared to answer some searching questions about your lifestyle and finances. You may find it easier/less stressful to wait until June.0
