Check this 'pack' before you sign anything.

How do this firm 'know' that you have a complaint if they can't access your financial history? They can't kow that unles you told them you did.

You can't be "owed" a PPI. However, if you had Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) on any of your finance then you can complain about it and you MAY be refunded.
If you haven't completed the "claim pack" sent by the Claims Management Company(CMC), then you can complain direct to the Bank yourself.

If you didn't call the Halifax yourself, then this sounds like a scam- especially as Halifax have already told you that you didn't have PPI. How could the Claim company "listen in" to your call?

You need to ring Halifax directly yourself to check again if you had any PPI.

Under no circumstances should you give this firm any money upfront.

So either they are eavesdropping on your calls to Halifax without Halifax knowing or - more likely - somebody is posing as being from Halifax.
  • Thank you for your replies the PPI company contacted me saying i was owed a PPI they had the info from the goverment data base they then put me through to Halifax who agreed i was owed 2 credit card PPI and gave me 2 PPI claim no this company now will send me a pack to sign in order to make the claim against the Halifax on my behalf. I would rather claim direct rather than pay their 36% fees iam concerned that as the PPI co have made the contact finding the PPI i would still be obligated to them even if i dont sign the pack thanks guys for reading

There is no such thing as a "government data base" of PPI. Even if there was, this company would have no access to it.

You've told us that Halifax have already informed you that you had no PPI. If I were you, I'd be accepting the word of the Bank over and above anyone cold-calling to tell me otherwise.

If you remain unconvinced, contact Halifax again to confirm.

They will do this because they will submit false complaints to every financial institution you've told them about

You need to find out wehther or not you did have any financial products with PPI. Halifax have already told you you didn't. To find out for sure if you did or not and if there is any paperwork left to find out, send them a SAR and £10.

Otherwise, forget about this phone call. It's just one big lie from beginning to end, it's a scam.
