WARNING!! Do not buy at Currys. Guarantee conditions are joke!

Besides of the need to push unlimited buttons to get to talk to a human being, wait for ages listening to "Sorry for the delay....," shifting you from one department to another —not without asking every time every detail again—, you have to learn that the promised Guarantee is a joke. The terms allow them 28 days to repair an appliance. What? Do I have to wait 28 days to use a washing machine, or a TV or microwave? By the way, although it is not my business, I cannot understand the model; a spare plus labor must be more expensive than a replacement. And, watch out! You will still have to pay for guarantees. The engineer will only attend the guarantee if you can assure parking facilities! If not, they will refuse attendance. I suppose this must be supported by law. Otherwise, they would not dare. However, a company can be judged by its customer service. If the service is bad... Preferable to pay a little more and get better customer service elsewhere. If you care for your money, DO NOT BUY in CURRY'S!

Not really seeing anything unreasonable in that wall of text.0

Never experienced these issues myself with Currys; they've always been quite helpful. And I would say that 28 days is fair enough.
And I don't work for Currys either. Have you tried complaining to them directly in a calm and clear manner? They may be able to loan you a replacement whilst you wait for repairs...0 -
It's a maximum time, not a set time for every repairSquirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
Just had my washing machine fixed by Curry's. Called them on the Wednesday they came out on the Monday were there 10 mins as all that was wrong was a hairband had got caught up.
As Esqui said the 28 days is the maximum time and after that I believe they just replace the item. it doesn't mean every repair will take that longFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -

I don't actually like Curry's, but none of that seems unreasonable to me.
I'm guessing 28 days would be the amount of time they allow themselves to do the repair, not the amount of time it will definitely take.
I don't understand why you'd assume that spare parts and labour would cost more than an entire replacement item! By its very nature, the parts inside the machine must cost less than the machine itself, and what if the failed component is something small and cheap like a fuse?
And then there's the fact that it's possible to waste a huge amount of time driving around looking for a parking space. I can see why they ask you to make sure there's parking.:coffee:Coffee +3 Dexterity +3 Willpower -1 Ability to Sleep

Besides of the need to push unlimited buttons to get to talk to a human being,
brilliant website called pleasepress1.com which gives a run down of what buttons to press to get through to the right people. Can use it for any customer services number, its a massive timesaver! :j
The guarantee is with the manufacturer, and Curry's (and most retailers) allow them "a reasonable time" (which generally is 28 days) to complete the repair.
They can't be exchanging everything straight away as no company would make any money!Slimming WorldWeek 1 B]-7[/B Week 2 B]+1[/B Week 3 B]STS[/B Week 4 COLOR=DarkOrange]STS-3-2[/B Week 7 COLOR=Red]-1+2[/B Week 9 COLOR=Red]-2[/COLOR
