I've phoned my local dealership and they seem to have found the part.

I was quoted £6.95 plus VAT which I thought was good. So I've asked them to order it.

Since then though I think I have found the part on ebay and it's £21.25...

The part number I was given by the Dealership doesn't match. In fact it doesn't seem to correspond to anything - 55353838 - Do you think I've possibly ordered the wrong part??

    Ebay item:

That part number googles as being a pre-heat pipe for the throttle body. Does the hose you're having a problem with go to the throttle body?

IIWY, I'd go into the dealer - in the car. They'll be able to look it up on the computer, so you can see exactly which bit it is, on a nice exploded diagram. If you're still not sure, you can always go out and look at it.

Not to sure about the throttle body. I know it goes from the expansion tank at one end then at the other end it splits into two with one connection going to a part that holds a belt (apologies if this makes no sense) then to the bottom of the radiator (possibly).

I think I'll take your advice and find time to visit the dealer.

    Thanks

Water hoses are a common issue with your model of Astra - Take it to the main dealer and show the parts sales the pipe that is leaking.

They are such an issue it wouldn't surprise me if they have been superseded.
