How to remove oil stains from an emulsioned wall

As the title says, just wondered if anyone could offer assistance on the best way to remove oil stains from an emulsioned wall?
After and accident involving a bottle of cooking oil, there is a large area that has oil marks.
The wall currently appears to be painted with a matt emulsion paint, and will be getting repained using a kitchen style in the near future (think it's the B&Q valspar range - kitchen paint with a sheen)
to prevent the oil stains from bleeding through, I'd like to prepare the surface as best I can and I'm not sure the best course of action.
Thank you in advance for your help

I should add, I have used google for ideas, but was wondering if anyone had first hand experience on things that do/don't work, before I make any attempts and make the problem worse.0

There is a product called Zinser that will definitely stop oil or greasy stains from leaking through when painting. A lot of professional decorators use it.
Or for a quick fix you could try any decent oil based paint such as gloss or any branded stain sealer to mask out the stain. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
You need to remove the oil before painting otherwise you will have problems in the future, try white spirit then wash down with sugar soap. Will still leave a stain but you can then stain block it before decoration0

thank you everyone
Just to clarify I am going to be repainting the wall in a different colour and will be keeping the excess to refresh as required.
What I need to do is prepare the surface properly prior to applying the new paint, otherwise, the grease will continue to come through - there is no point in just painting over the oil, as it won't get rid of the problem.
Thanks again for the advice though, I will be off to use my elbow grease and some of the tips mentioned.0
