Hi all,
Basically I'm looking for some good yet free AV software. I'm already aware of Avast, and AVG, but wanting to avoid these if possible.
Hope someone can help.

This list of antivirus software is taken from rizla01's post (Free software list):
* AntiVir - http://www.free-av.com/
* Avast - http://www.avast.com/i_idt_1018.html
* AVG - http://www.grisoft.com/
* Windows Live Safety Center - http://safety.live.com/
* Superantispyware - http://www.superantispyware.com/
Not sure why you want to avoid AVG or Avast. I am very happy with AVG.
Hope this helps.0 -
I've always found AVG to be quality - far better than Norton which slowed my computer considerably and was an absolute pain to remove.0

Active Virus Shield.
Sponsored by AOL, but is Kaspersky without the bells and whistles (and annoying macro-stopper they call Office Guard).0 -

I'm curious as well. I know AVG and Avast have their detractors and people tend to prefer one over the other but I don't know of anyone that wouldn't consider either of them."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

superantispyware is not an anti virus product but a usefully addition.
I find avast to be very good - find it a more rounded product.0 -

I'd have to Echo that Kaspersky are in the the top 2 AV's in the world so to get it for free is a no brainer
Previously i've used Mcaffe (Pants) AVG (Good) & Anti Vir (Good) but switched to AVS a couple of weeks ago and once installed it ran very well & i feel very confident it will do a good job too
p,s Johnmc do you play Cod2 ?0 -
