Selling Car to A Quick Sale Company

I have tapped in my details into a few of them and valuations have varied by 33%.

Has anyone used one successfully and what was the experience like?

Do they tend to lower the offer when they visit from what they give online?

Depends if you have misrepresented the car or if there are scratches or dents that the online forms cant allow for.

Expect to get a lower price, that way you won't be disappointed.

They are going to make money on your car - otherwise they wouldn't do it, so it seems to me you are going to get more if you sell your car privately. I once stopped my mum from doing a px on her car and she ended up £800 better off when I sold it privately. Just put an ad on Ebay or Autotrader.

I think the only recommendations you will find on a money saving forum is to sell the car privately.

They are all about the same, but as long as you have described your car well enough, the valuation they have given on the screen will be what you will get on the day.

You should go there and if they try and knock anything off your car's value then get back in it and drive away.

What is your car, and the value by the way and have you looked other sites to see what similar cars are selling for?

Bit like asking do you think i should be robbed or mugged.

They want to give you as little for your car as they can. They want to sell at a profit. And wont be making anything from selling you a car where a dealer might.

Thanks. I appreciate these companies just like selling it back to the dealer will on average produce a lower offer.

And while selling it privately may deliver a better result, it will take time costing insurance each month and inconvenience. My circumstances have changed and I no longer require my car so its now costing me every month without any use.

2009, peugeot 207, 5 door. I did some research this morning. Privately £4,300. Keyed in details into 3 quick sell sites and got £3300, £3455 and £4,000.

eBay five or seven day auction starting at the lowest price you are being offered by the buying companies. Car will be gone in a week and a half at worst and you can stop paying. I bet researching these companies has lost you two of those days already ;)

How much is the insurance going to cost you a month, £20...tax maybe £10, so even if it takes 2 months it will of only cost you £60 and you will get a lot more for it. But up to you.
