Property Management Company Changes Ownership

The property management company which manages my rental property has changed ownership twice. On both occasions it has been taken over by a larger company. I have never been asked to sign any new contracts. Do i still have a contract with the new company or can i walk away from them. The original contract is over 10 years old and the new company can't find their copy of it?

By "property management company" do you mean a letting-agent? If so, your contract is with the landlord and always has been. The agent is just an intermediary acting on your landlord's behalf.
When was the last time you signed a tenancy agreement? You could still be within a fixed-term, so please confirm before any advice can be given.0 -
sorry, i should have said, i am the landlord/owner.0

Your contract will be with the company that owns the freehold. This may or may not be the actual Management Company.
Where I live for instance, each flat owns 1/30th of the company that owns the freehold. This company is then run by Directors who are owners of the properties. They in turn, appoint a management company to do the day to day running of the site.
As an owner, my contract is with the company that owns the freehold (and of which I, as an owner, own 1/30th). It is not with the management company that does the actual running of the site on our behalf.Never Knowingly Understood.
